Phase 1: Buying the land

The first phase in building your dream home is to acquire the appropriate land.

This is a critical step as the old adage goes "Location, location, location". Although location is exceptionally important, there are other factors to consider such as:

The orientation of the land: in South Africa the most sought after properties are north facing so that you can have all of your entertainment and recreation in the backyard of your house away from the street.

Phase 2: Designing your home

Once you have found the land you will need to design a home that is appropriate to your lifestyle. This means finding an architect to draw up the plans within your budget. Daystar has a relationship with some good architect offices and are available to assist you in this process.

It is important to consider the costs associated with what your architect draws up as the last thing you want is for them to create plans for an amazing home that you can't afford to build. Again, the experience and support of Daystar directors can prove invaluable to you and avoid unnecessary costs and delays.

Phase 3: Free Quotation from Daystar

Once the design for the house is complete Daystar can provide a detailed quotation and a plan for the construction of your home. A timeline of goals will be established with the customer and all of your concerns and questions are dealt with during this phase.

Phase 4: Submission to the bank for a building loan

The detailed construction plan can then be submitted to the bank in order to obtain a building loan. Once this is approved the building can begin.

Phase 5: Building Phase

Daystar works step by step with the client to ensure the construction of their home runs according to the plan.

An average house of 400 square meters will take 6 to 7 months to complete. This includes the first breaking of ground and construction of a foundation right up to the completion of all finishing work.

Phase 6: Certification phase

Upon completion of the house Daystar will obtain the electrical/plumbing/roof/concrete slab/gas and glass certificates free of charge and then obtain the certificate of occupancy from the city of Johannesburg and then you will be ready to move in.

Welcome to your new home!
